Realistic watercolours; abstract acrylics; conte; graphite and oils.
All of my life I have had a passion for producing art work. Why? I don’t know. I first started working with oil paints when I was about 10 years old, then 20 or so years later started using acrylics, and 15 or so years after that watercolours. During that time I also learned to use graphite, pastels, and conte.
I have studied under 28 skilled artists in a variety of cities to learn all that I could about the craft: have bought far too many books and have studied them and now have a room full of art materials. Somehow it all added up.
I have taught adult art classes at the Woodstock Art Gallery and several other locations for over 13 years.
For years I painted studies that were representative of the real .Then one day I decided to explore non-objective abstract art. It was time for growth in a new direction, I guess. The possibilities are limitless in what can be done.
My work has been sold primarily in Oxford County though some pieces have found their way across Canada. I have shown my work in many art shows and studio tours. I even have a book published and it can actually be found on Amazon. It is called: “Michael De Belleval expressions of life”. It displays some of the variety of the work that I have created.
I feel that I am fortunate to have been able to enjoy all of this over the years.
